    Abstract
Performance appraisal is a very important element for any business to succeed in the long run. It assists the companies to measure the performance of its employees with the help of a few components. Therefore, in order to identify the features influencing the performance appraisal system, this thesis report has been constructed on “Factors affecting the performance appraisal system of service organizations”. In order to prepare it 5 firms were selected and randomly 5 employees were chosen out of hundreds from each of those service institutions making it a sample size of total 25 people. The primary source was the survey questionnaire and the secondary source was the internet. To prepare this report few problems did arise such as not all the employees were sincere during this survey and tried to finish it as quickly as possible without giving much thought to it. Information such as employee’s name(optional), age gender, their workplace name and their and designation were required in the questionnaire. It can be said that almost all the factors mentioned are important for the employee performance appraisal as most of the objectives have surpassed the 80% boundary. The companies can implement new ways and rules to motivate and evaluate the employees by giving them recognition and many such activities. However, there are factors which are not that much necessary for all organizations such as employee attire and can be considered the least important one out of all.
