    Abstract
The report attempted to highlight the value chain management of Consumer Knitex Limited. General purchase department takes a major part of purchasing as the core function. The report tried to present a brief company profile including general information and main economic indicators, and specifies business environment for company development. The report also intend to present profiles of leading garment producers and lists major suppliers for them. The performance of the Consumer Knitex limited has been one of the most notable success stories of the Bangladesh RMG industry over the last two decades. Nearly 5000 workers work actively for the company’s production process. Within a short period of time they improved a lot and started getting a significant return from their investment. Still they face obstacles and limitations; but they are trying to improve. On the average this sector alone fetches over 78% of the total export earnings of the country (BGMEA, 2013). Today, the RMG export sector consists of multibillion dollar manufacturing and export industries in the country and Cosumer Knitex is a significant part of them. The overall impact of the readymade garment export is certainly one of the most significant contributing factors to social and economic developments in contemporary Bangladesh. Because the economy of Bangladesh largely depends on the RMG sector, in short, this sector is still considered as the lifeline of the Bangladesh`s economy and plays an indispensable role for the social stability of the country.
