An analysis of the Human Resource Management Practices of the Uttara Bank Limited.
Abstract
The report “An analysis of the Human Resource Management Practices of the Uttara Bank Limited.” has been prepared with the intension to fulfill the requirement of BBA (Bachelor in Business Administration) degree. It contains a detailed report on the HR practices of Uttara Bank Ltd. (UBL). UBL is one of the first private commercial banks of Bangladesh. It has a wide spread operation that runs throughout Bangladesh and outside of it as well. One of the most prominent reasons of success for UBL is its HR department. HR with its many functions ranging from planning of HR to managing changing needs of the modern world creates a flow that keeps UBL ready for any and all of its challenges. This report contains both theoretical and practical information regarding human resource management. Initial chapters include different HR related information that is ideal for any organization and is taught in curriculums. Then there is a very brief representation of the organization, its members, the products and services it provides, different areas it operates in and locations in which its branches are situated. There is information about how UBL plans its HR needs and supplies for it, where it recruits candidates from and how employees are selected, the compensation package UBL provides, the types of training UBL arranges for its employees and its orientation method, How UBL appraises its employees, the laws it follows and the way it manages the onslaught of changes thrown in its way. Later in the report there is a SWOT analysis that highlights different internal and external situations that the organization is either currently facing or would be facing in near future. The report then comes to end through a short recommendation and conclusion part. The entire theme and overall ambience has been set to give an idea about what we learn and how it reflects in the actual course of action. I hope that this report is as insightful as I have felt while researching for it.
