    Abstract
The objective of this report is to analyze the financial performance of Prime Bank PLC for the period of five years from 2019 to 2023 and suggest strategies for enhancing performance. The study provides a detailed insight into liquidity, profitability, efficiency, solvency and market positioning of banks through financial ratio analysis. This is analyzed in connection with the conditions of the market and the economy, as a result of which a true picture of the bank’s situation emerges. "The key findings of the review pertains to its strong liquidity position, which it plans to utilize in navigating through the financial uncertainty and ensuring continued operational status. Profitability ratios however are rather mixed bag of results as some of the ratios are expressing improvements, some are spotlighting threat and some indeed are requiring the firm to make adjustments in its operations to let revenue growth keep pace with the growth in costs. Solvency and efficiency ratios offer a glimpse at the bank’s leverage management and asset utilization, and recent deviations signal that strategies may need to be readjusted due to external pressures. A closer look at the DuPont framework clarifies the ROE trends, and explains increasing difficulties to keep profit margins up in face of operational costs. There is strong track record in risk management with a sound credit risk management practice as evidenced by the NPL ratio, despite positioning in challenging market. The paper concludes with clear recommendations to deal with financial difficulties and enhance Prime Bank’s competitiveness. These measures primarily aim at improving the operational efficiency, profitability and financial stability of the bank. Looking ahead, Prime Bank PLC is geared to face challenges and seize opportunities that lie ahead, thus positioning itself on a successful and sustained growth curve and enabling it to set its own pace in a highly competitive environment.
