HRM practices in Premier Bank PLC
Abstract
This study focuses on the Human Resource Management (HRM) practices at Premier Bank
PLC, specifically at the Chotto Bazar Branch, Mymensingh. Premier Bank PLC is a prominent
private government-sector scheduled bank in Bangladesh, actively engaged in commercial
banking operations since its inception. The report aims to assess the HRM activities carried
out at the Chotto Bazar Branch and shed light on the overall HRM practices within Premier
Bank PLC. The report highlights the challenges commonly faced by banks in Bangladesh
regarding HRM practices. These challenges include talent acquisition and retention, regulatory
compliance, diversity and inclusion, technological integration, and employee development and
training. These issues pose significant hurdles to effective HRM in the banking sector. To
identify and analyze these HRM-related problems, a mixed-method research approach will be
employed. The primary data collection will include interviews with HR professionals,
managers, and employees at the Chotto Bazar Branch. These interviews will provide valuable
insights into the specific challenges faced by the branch in terms of talent acquisition,
regulatory compliance, diversity and inclusion efforts, technological integration, and employee
development. Additionally, a survey will be conducted to gather quantitative data on employee
perceptions and experiences related to HRM practices. The survey will encompass questions
pertaining to talent acquisition and retention strategies, compliance with regulations, diversity
and inclusion initiatives, technology utilization, and employee training and development
opportunities.
