    Abstract
Global Islami Bank is the newest Islamic bank in Bangladesh converted from commercial bank to Islamic bank on 1st January, 2021. Previously it was known as NRB Global Bank. Though it is new but it has wide range of customers. Most of the NRB Global Bank’s customers stayed with the bank. Also new clients are frequently opening account and doing banking with GIB. The main focus of the study is the general banking activities, how it is different from commercial banking, understanding the concept of shariah based banking and conducting SWOT analysis. Data has been collected from both primary and secondary sources. Primary sources- face to face discussion, observation. Secondary sources- Official website, other websites. There were some limitations to the study. GIB is a bank so interns do not have access to all the information or software due to privacy concern of clients. Time was limited. Though many employees work there but not everyone is not properly familiar with the philosophy and background of Shariah based Islamic banking. This report also includes the difference between commercial banking and Islamic banking activities and also discusses the concept of Shariah based banking. There were some major findings both positive and negative. If the bank focus on increasing branches in rural area, increase employee satisfaction, and focus on remittance clients, then GIB has the potential to become one of the leading banks in Bangladesh.
