The Objective of this report is to evaluate private hospital sector of Bangladesh, to evaluate United Hospital's operations from a realistic standpoint, to present of my internship and to make suggestions to the health sector, United Hospital Ltd, and myself.
Not only is the internship report valuable to me, but it is also important to medical researchers, health officials, and the general public. This intern report includes straightforward writings to help laypeople understand the mission of the United Hospital and Health Industry. They will be able to appreciate the value of the private health sector in terms of economics. The research will help policymakers resolve health-related problems. It is proposed, among other items, that negative remarks be discussed and that steps be taken. They'll predict future trends and take proactive steps to address potential problems.
The background of this report discusses the current state of the hospital industry. With over 60000 people unemployed, Bangladesh still has a severe doctor shortage. Furthermore, the workload at the government hospital is especially high. Private hospitals are assisting many people in the midst of COVID 19's crisis and COVID 19 has a negative influence on all aspects of our society. The most complex and costly cases are handled by private hospitals, which historically allowed people to fly to foreign countries. How private hospitals helps people in the time of pandemic, the good side and bad side of private hospitals, United Hospital Limited’s work procedure from a realistic standpoint have discussed in this report.
There are 3976 public hospitals and clinics, as well as 975 private hospitals and clinics. After our independence everything is rebuilt as well as hospitals. At first there were only government healthcare was available. But day by day population explosion makes difficult the work of public healthcare sector. And then private healthcare comes as a relief. In the report, how the number of private healthcare sector increases has discussed. Corona Virus directly affects Hospital management system recent days. There are some technological change also in hospitals. There is telemedicine care available for patients, they no longer need to go to hospital because of this COVOD 19 situation. Government will give incentive packages for every frontline fighter of this pandemic situation. It appears that getting into the healthcare industry is easy.
It usually happens mostly as a result of political consequences, which should be prohibited by law. It is also appeared that political considerations drive the opening of new hospitals, which is ethically wrong. Many hospitals operate inappropriately and record false corona virus cases. Those big fishes are quite often captured, but it is not always. Threat of this industry is Low-income residents, as a result, prefer low-cost health insurance over private health care. The private chamber of physicians is another threat to the private health-care system.
United Hospital Ltd. is a renowned and well-known private hospital in Bangladesh. They provide the highest quality services to their clients by employing the best doctors and equipment. It can accommodate more than 450 patients and is spread out over a secured area of more than 400,000 square feet. The hospital has 11 state-of-the-art operating rooms. The cardiology and cardiac surgery departments at this hospital are staffed by some of Bangladesh's most renowned doctors. But Gastroenterology and endocrinology is weaker side of this hospital. In near future, United Hospital Ltd. has a greater opportunity to become a most patient friendly hospital. This is just one of their cardiology department's achievements, which also include over 2300 open heart operations and over 8300 angiograms and angioplasty procedures.
As United Hospital Ltd. is one of our country's finest health-care providers, I considered myself fortunate to have completed my internship there. I was hired for accounting and finance department. But my work is linked with other department also. I had to make regular communication with purchase and procurement department and General store of the Hospital for my work purpose. They gave me a descriptive and unscripted assessment of my work. My internship results were assessed by the finance department's DGM and the manager with whom I worked. I have developed some new skills there.
Some departmental and personal recommendations are specified in the report. Their job procedure, chain of command, and internal management structure all need further attention. Aside from my personal growth, I need to gain confidence and improve my financial knowledge. We had a lot of issues because I was an intern there during the pandemic. We are hopeful that things will change soon. Our country's economy will recover and thrive once more.
