| dc.description.abstract | IDLC Investments Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of IDLC Finance Limited, is a premier brand for investment banking and has been serving the capital market of Bangladesh for over seventeen years. IDLC Investments Limited (IDLCIL) has started its acts from August 16, 2011 to offer merchant banking services to both individual and institutional clients.
As per rules of the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), IDLC formed an individual supplementary on May 19, 2010 in the name of “IDLC Investments Limited”, to transfer the existing merchant banking activities to the newly formed entity. In a short period of time IDLCIL has achieved a lot and became one of the major contributors of profit and revenue for IDLC Finance Ltd.
Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM) has played an important role in the achievements of IDLCIL. They are successfully serving their individual and institutional clients. This report describes the learning and experiences derived from working in IDLCIL as an intern for three months.
Firstly, I wrote a brief organizational background of IDLC Investment Ltd. Then I gave small descriptions of my contributions and my learning. Through the challenges and practical learning, I have been able to discover my capabilities and lacking. I have also included the products and services.
Findings part of the report contains all the details related to portfolio management services provided by IDLC Investments Limited. It describes the process and all necessary documentation needed in the provision of such services. On the basis of my experiences, observations, and learning, I have come up with some suggestions for the development of the organization.
