dc.description.abstractThe objective of this research is to acquire an understanding of the General Banking Activities and practices conducted by Sonali Bank Limited. Through the provision of functional banking services and customer-centric schemes, the bank has secured the loyalty of its clientele and captured a significant market share, thereby establishing itself as the foremost bank in the country. In the introductory section of my report, I provide a background that encapsulates the overall content of the document. Subsequently, I present a concise overview of Sonali Bank Limited, where I have compiled information regarding its historical context, the number of branches, vision, mission, and other relevant details. Following this, the project section is introduced. In this part, I have illustrated the general banking operations of Sonali Bank Ltd and have thoroughly analyzed each aspect of general banking. Furthermore, I have included a succinct overview of the terms and guidelines related to each general banking scheme provided by the bank's management. In the findings section, I have pointed out that the bank offers outdated product schemes. As a result, the management of Loans & Advances at Sonali Bank Limited is critically important. In the contemporary market, banks must compete not only with local competitors but also with international financial institutions. Sonali Bank Limited is recognized as one of the leading commercial banks in Bangladesh. The bank plays a vital role in contributing to the nation's economy. Moreover, the bank is lacking in advanced IT facilities that are currently in high demand. Subsequently, I have put forth several recommendations based on the findings outlined in this report. I have compiled an Internship Report on "Loans & Advances of Sonali Bank Limited". I have gained a wide range of banking knowledge from the professionals at the bank and have strived to fully apply both my academic understanding and personal skills. Additionally, I have made every effort to cover all the essential aspects of the assigned topic. I have recommended that the banking authorities adopt rapid advancements in modern technology by implementing customized banking tools and applications. I have additionally suggested that the relevant authorities enhance their human resource management policies to attain the desired outcomes. The banking industry in Bangladesh comprises a diverse range of institutions, including Nationalized Commercial Banks, Private Banks, foreign banks, Specialized Banks, and Development Banks. Sonali Bank Limited is crucial in fostering growth and economic development in Bangladesh. By fortifying its HR systems, Sonali Bank seeks to increase productivity, guarantee transparency, and maintain accountability in its core banking functions, which encompass deposits, loans, remittances, and customer service. The main goal for most organizations is profit generation, and financial performance acts as a measure of a company's financial well-being, suggesting that better financial performance is associated with higher profits. Assessing a company's financial performance ultimately indicates its success and illustrates how effectively it can achieve its goals. Sonali Bank engages in a range of functions, and the report encompasses several sections, including an introduction, a profile of SBL, an examination of general banking operations and financial performance, a SWOT analysis of SBL, as well as recommendations and conclusions.en_US
