dc.description.abstractThis report explores relationships between socioeconomic, demographic, tourism-related, and economic factors with domestic tourism expenditure. Key socio-economic factors include income, household size and type, employment status, education attainment and foreign remittance that influence travel habits and spending patterns. Travel expenses are also greatly impacted by demographic factors such as age, gender, marital status, education, place of residence, religion, and employment status. Tourism-related factors like the duration of stay, size of the travel party, and type of trip directly affect the costs associated with domestic travel. Economic elements, including price and exchange rates, play a crucial role in the affordability and attractiveness of domestic tourism. The report emphasizes the need for policymakers and industry stakeholders to understand these diverse influences to develop strategies that encourage domestic tourism expenditure. By addressing these factors, it is possible to establish a domestic tourist industry that is more structural and stronger, which will support overall economic growth and development.en_US
