    Abstract
This paper explores how much graduation contributes to the banking sector. In Bangladesh, Employers in the banking sector both in the private and public sector have come from different academic disciplines. Despite having different academic disciplines, they are able to perform their task. This paper studied how much training on the job is effective to complete their task and does initial graduation really matter in this sector. Detailed and comprehensive interviews were taken with the employers and employees to get their insight into what skills set are sought in the banking sector and the magnitude of the effectiveness of graduation in their work. Based on the findings from the correspondents, this paper proposed some policies which can help bankers and educators to coordinate and meet the skill demands required in the banking sector.
