As a portion of my graduation program, I made this report. The report is prepared on “The Characteristics of Loan Portfolio of Dutch Bangla Bank(DBBL)”. Loans and advances are the main uses of funds for commercial banks to continue their businesses. The report discloses the various types of loan schemes and loan portfolio of Dutch Bangla Bank Ltd. I attempted to analyze the percentage of loans provided with respect to various classifications over the period from 2015 to 2018. There are mainly 3 major categories in which DBBL provides loans. They are industry wise loans; loans provided based on geographic location and board economic sector-wise loans. From the analysis it is observed that in industry wise segmentation the majority of the loans provided by DBBL to the textile industry, followed by other industries and readymade garments. Based on geographic location DBBL provided the highest amount of loans in the Dhaka division and that remains constant over the periods. After the Dhaka division, they gave priority to the Chittagong division. On the basis of economic sector-wise classification, most of the loans DBBL provides captured by the private sector which is equal to 99 percent in 2018.en_US
