The title of this report is “Analysis of Prime Bank Limited and the banking industry in Bangladesh: An internship experience perspective”. The main objective of this report is to develop a framework about analysis of banking industry and experience of internship. This report starts with the analysis of the banking industry of Bangladesh. Then the analysis of the organization which is Prime Bank Ltd. and finally my internship experience and learning also include in this report. First of all, in the analysis of banking industry I tried to show the background where the relationship between economy and banking industry is discussed. Like, the economy covers a number of small and medium industries that organize for 25% of the nation’s GDP. There are 8 state-owned banks, 40 privately-owned and 9 foreign-owned banks. A banking system involved various rules and regulations, policies and procedures that are related to different actions. On the other hand, the objective of this report includes analyzing the banking industry, analyzing the Prime Bank Ltd and the presentation of internship experience. However the main significance of the report is to make clear perception about banking industry so that people can easily have the virtual image of banking industry. Moreover, the overview of the report includes several points such as barriers of the Bank, branches, departments, product and services, overview, history, SWOT analysis, internship experience. Secondly, in the introduction I tried to show the specification of the industry like, the banking industry in Bangladesh started their journey with 6 nationalized commercial banks, 2 state owned specialized banks, and 3 foreign banks after Bangladesh. Banking sector of Bangladesh is mainly two types which are Scheduled Banks and Non Scheduled Bank. The size and trend of the maturity includes the market size of banks and at which time what is the state of banking industry. Sometimes banking industry has low revenue sometimes high on the basis of seasonality. There are also some external factors like, economical factor, social factor, and environmental factor. Technological, political, legal and regulatory factor also play a vital role in banking industry. There are also some barriers to entry like nowadays people believe more on well-known big famous kind of banks that have huge shares price in the market because these industries are related to people's money and finances. So there is a huge competition running in the industry. The suppliers in banking industry mainly include customer savings, mortgages and loans, securities, loans from other financial organizations etc. The buying power is basically the buying capacity of customer. However there are also industry rivalry and threat of substitute because same kinds of service are offering at same price. Thirdly, in the analysis of PBL I tried to show the overview of the PBL it established in April 17, 1995 under the license issued by Bangladesh Bank. Prime Bank has already made significant progress within a very short period of time. The bank has been graded as a top class bank in the country. Customers are the center of all the activities of a bank. Customer mix is the sales driven by a particular type of customer segment expressed as a percentage of business total sales. In product mix, it basically different kinds of loans like agricultural, flat loan, consumer financing loan etc. however, There are three categories of management which includes top level management, middle level management and junior level management. Every level has different area of people like in top level there are chairman, board of director and executive committee. On the other hand, mid level management and junior level management includes other areas of position which includes different operational factors of PBL. In the SWOT analysis there is strength, weaknesses, opportunity and threats are discussed. However they should overcome some lacking like they should manage a good HRM team, there operational activity should be good, they should control the regulatory factors properly. Lastly, in the internship experience I tried to what I have learned like I am more responsible than before, my communication skills are developed etc. There are also some drawbacks that PBL should overcome that they don’t have enough seating arrangement, printers, photocopy machine etc.en_US
