Paper Industry in Bangladesh: A Case of Bashundhara Paper Mills Ltd.

Abstract

The paper industry in Bangladesh is one of the very important sectors as it plays a vital role in supporting education, office activities, various commercial sector and also in producing hygiene and packaging products. Due to rapid industrial expansion, urbanization, rising literacy rate, and increasing demand of packaging products, growth of this industry is very positive. This report aims to unveil the overall situation and current picture of the paper industry in Bangladesh and to analyze the Bashundhara Paper Mills Ltd comprehensively. It is also to represent an internship experience at Safwan Bashundhara Global.

This report divided into various chapters. The first part focuses on the analysis of the paper industry in Bangladesh and it covers its size, trend, and maturity, technological factors, challenges and opportunities. The second part describes the overview, mission and vision, customer mix, service quality, SWOT analysis, strategic initiatives to meet challenges of Bashundhara Paper Mills Ltd. The third part of the report presents my internship experience at Bashundhara Global and it includes my duties and responsibilities, training activities, challenges faced, skill development, and overall learnings. Finally, the last part provides the recommendations for improving departmental operations as well as for improving self-performance.

Overall, this report combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience and it should fulfill the academic requirements of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program. It is very much assumed that the study of this report will be helpful for students, researchers and professional interested in understanding the paper industries, corporate practices and business approaches in Bangladesh.
