Internships play a vital role in business education, as they expose students to real organizational environments that classroom learning alone cannot provide. While academic study builds a strong foundation in management theories and business concepts, it's through practical experience that students truly grasp how these concepts translate into real-world situations. This internship report titled “Production and Supply Chain Management of Knitted Waistband Elastic at Al Mulk Elastic & Accessories” has been prepared based on my practical working experience at Al Mulk Elastic & Accessories, a garment accessories manufacturing company located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Al Mulk Elastic & Accessories specializes in manufacturing knitted waistband elastic, a key accessory used across various garment and apparel products. The company places strong emphasis on product quality, production efficiency, and timely delivery, supported by effective operational management systems. During my internship, I worked as a manager, overseeing a range of operational activities across the organization. This included monitoring production, coordinating between departments, supervising workers, managing inventory, supporting supply chain activities, overseeing quality control, and ensuring deliveries ran smoothly. The report offers an overview of the company's operations, production process, supply chain management, and the broader industry environment. It explains how imported raw materials, such as yarn and runner materials, are sourced from international suppliers and transformed into finished knitted waistband elastic through a series of manufacturing stages. The production process starts with raw material receiving and inspection, followed by knitting, finishing, quality inspection, packaging, and final delivery. Each stage requires proper coordination among different departments to maintain production efficiency and customer satisfaction. The report also analyzes the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the company and the garments accessories industry. The analysis highlights the importance of efficient supply chain management, inventory control, workforce management, and quality assurance in maintaining competitiveness in the manufacturing sector. The internship experience helped me develop practical knowledge about industrial operations and improve my managerial capabilities. It enhanced my understanding of leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making in a professional environment. Overall, the internship at Al Mulk Elastic & Accessories was a valuable learning experience that connected my academic knowledge with practical business operations and prepared me for future professional challenges.en_US
