Abstract
In this report, I am going to share my experience of the four months of my internship experience within bKash Limited, one of the most successful mobile financial service providers in Bangladesh. My placement was in the External Affairs Department of the External and Corporate Affairs Division. To be more precise, I had to work with the Financial Crime Management Team, in which I was engaged in the management of official letter-based cases.
This report is primarily aimed at analyzing the role of External Affairs and corporate communication practices at bKash Limited. The report also unexplained how external stakeholder communication, official correspondence, confidentiality, documentation, and timely response are beneficial to the reputation and trustworthiness of the organization.
Throughout my internship, I was assigned to work on about 110+ letter-based cases. These cases were based on official requests received from authorized law enforcement and special agencies. My duties were to read and comprehend official letters, to recognize the information that is needed, to collect the necessary information using authorized systems, to prepare the response documents and maintain the records in Excel and provide support to the process of communication through the proper official channels. During my internship activities, I used Microsoft Excel, Oracle, Microsoft Word, and Outlook.
Marketing wise, this internship made me realize that corporate communication does not just involve promotional activities as a whole. Stakeholder management, preserving institutional trust, securing customer confidentiality, and a responsible brand image are also part of communication in an organization such as bKash. On the whole, this internship helped me gain practical experience in corporate communication, relationships with stakeholders, documentation, confidentiality, and the overall behavior at the workplace.
