Abstract

This report aims to evaluate the financial performance and condition of five conventional and non-conventional banks in Bangladesh over a three year period through the application of thirty distinct financial ratios. While conducting this study, both opportunities and limitations were encountered in gathering and analyzing data. The literature review provides a conceptual understanding of Financial Statement Analysis, incorporating insights and viewpoints from various researchers on the subject. It also outlines the types of data used, the methods of data collection, and the sample size employed in the study. An industry overview has been included to discuss the banking sector’s structure, key features, functions, and overall role within the economy. In addition, the numerical data and relevant information were collected from the annual reports published by the respective banks on their official websites. The core section of the report Findings and Analysis presents a detailed, graphical examination of the financial performance of the selected banks, offering a comprehensive view of their financial health and trends over the three year span. The report concludes with a summary of the financial conditions observed and provides recommendations on whether the banks should enhance their performance or maintain their current strategies.
