    Abstract
Based on my three-month academic internship, this report provides a detailed summary of the general banking operations performed at Sonali Bank PLC, Lalmatia Branch. This internship gave me hands-on experience in the workings of one of Bangladesh's biggest and oldest state-owned commercial banks as part of my Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) curriculum. The report's primary goal is to understand and learn about Sonali Bank's daily operations and general banking practices, with a particular focus on the Lalmatia Branch. The Lalmatia Branch serves a wide customer base, including individual clients, small businesses, students, senior citizens, and government employees. Account opening, cash transactions like cash deposits and withdrawals, local remittance, cheque clearing, deposit schemes information, customer service, and associated front-desk operations are all included in general banking, which is a bank's main operational department. My goal in writing this report is to fill the gap between academic and practical knowledge. I had the chance to experience and help with many important tasks during my internship, such as cash deposit forms, processing cheques, client inquiries, account opening procedures, and opening accounts as well (current, savings, and FDR), data entry in the bank's core banking system (CBS). Additionally, I gained knowledge of compliance protocols like KYC (Know Your Customer). In conclusion, this internship has significantly contributed to my understanding of the banking sector and enriched my theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience at Sonali Bank PLC, through its Lalmatia Branch. The branch maintains a strong public presence and plays a pivotal role in delivering essential banking services.
