    Abstract
The report provides a comprehensive financial analysis and competitive positioning of Woori Bank Bangladesh, mostly emphasis on its operational performance along with trade finance department. The sole purpose of this report is to present an image of the banks' operational performance over the last 5 years and in which areas, they need to improve comparing key financial indicators with industry benchmarks and other foreign commercial banks that operate in Bangladesh. The report began with a crystal clear overview of the organizational structure and strategic focus of Woori Bank Bangladesh. The Bank strengthens its expertise in trade finance to position itself in the competitive market by offering a range of services including retail banking, lending, and support to small and medium-sized businesses as well as export-import financing. The financial analysis section concerns the performance of Woori Bank Bangladesh over the past five years, focusing on key metrics such as revenue analysis, profitability ratios, cost efficiency, capital adequacy, risk measurement, and asset growth. This analysis section is based on a deep review of the organization's financial statements, annual reports and other publicly available information. Through equity (ROE) and return on assets (ROA) assessment identified that the capacity to earn money from capital and assets is continuously improving. It shows an important sign of banks performance and financial strength. Analyzing the bank's cost-to-income and cost-of-funds ratios, the analysis highlights its attempt to successfully control costs. With a strong cost control rate Woori Bank Bangladesh has contributed to improved profitability. However, through NPL analysis we get to know that the bank holds a lower non-performing loan (NPL) ratio than the industry average. Which specifies the bank manages credit risk operation well thereby keeping its financial and asset quality on track. Additionally, based on CAR (Capital Adequacy Ratio) and Tier 1 Capital Ratio this report also analyzed how the bank beats the industry standard level under both, with specific emphasis in 2023. The bank's capital position is strengthened to absorb future losses as well as guarantee long-term viability. Loan and deposit growth rates analysis are covered in the report and this growth is a positive sign that the market share and customer base for Woori Bank Bangladesh continues to expand. Most of this growth has come through the bank´s focus on trade finance where it is now finally taking market share from other Foreign Commercial Banks in Bangladesh. On top of that, in the comparative analysis segment, it stands against major foreign banks operating in Bangladesh like Standard Chartered, HSBC, Citibank etc. Although these banks have developed large operations and worldwide networks, Woori Bank Bangladesh determines itself through its specialization in trade finance and solid ties within the Asian market. The bank has been able to successfully operate in a dynamic and competitive environment because of its innovative approach, especially in digital banking products.
