Bangladesh is one of the highest remittance recipient countries in the Asian region. Every year approximately 400,000 workers move to developed countries in search for job opportunities. Consequently, their departure creates brain drain in their native countries. Although they often send foreign money to their families, which in result enables a cash inflow situation in the recipient country that contributes strongly to their economy. However, it is arguable whether the remittance is enough to eliminate the recent trade deficiency in Bangladesh. Thus, with this paper we will learn how remittances can have strong and positive impact on our trade balance.en_US
