Abstract

This report has been prepared as a requirement for the completion of the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program at United International University (UIU). The internship was completed at ACI Logistics Limited (Shwapno), the largest retail chain in Bangladesh, under the Company Goods Department, Beverage & Tobacco category. During the internship period, I was assigned to the Ready-to-Drink (RTD) Project, which aims to provide customers with convenient and high-quality beverage options through RTD vending machines installed in selected Shwapno outlets. The main objective of this report is to present the knowledge and practical experience gained during the internship and to relate them to the academic concepts learned throughout my studies. I was involved in monitoring RTD machine performance, tracking sales and inventory data, coordinating with suppliers and outlet personnel, preparing reports, and supporting merchandising activities. These responsibilities provided me with valuable exposure to retail operations, inventory management, supplier coordination, and project execution in a real business environment. The report highlights the operational activities of the RTD Project and discusses the challenges encountered during the internship period, including machine downtime, stock shortages, delayed replenishment, and communication gaps among different stakeholders. These challenges helped me develop problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and a better understanding of the importance of efficient coordination in retail operations. Based on my observations and experience, several recommendations have been provided to improve the effectiveness of the RTD Project, such as enhancing inventory monitoring systems, strengthening preventive maintenance practices, and improving communication between suppliers and outlet teams. Overall, the internship experience was highly valuable and enriching. It enabled me to gain practical insights into retail supply chain operations while developing both technical and interpersonal skills. The experience has significantly contributed to my professional growth and has provided a strong foundation for my future career in supply chain and retail management.
