Supply Chain and Operational Practices of Nodes Digital Limited: An Internship Experience

Abstract

This report has been prepared for the completion of the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program’s requirement at United International University. The internship was completed at Nodes Digital Limited, one of the leading IoT based agri-tech company in the industry under Business Department. In the internship, I was privileged to have a clear understanding of its field of operations and concerns. Nodes Digital Limited’s two flagship IoT devices are E-irrigation and E-fisheries, controls through server dashboard and mobile application. The main objective of this papers is to illustrate the practical experience and company insights perceived throughout the internship period. During the period, I was actively involved in supporting the company’s internal operations, sourcing of IoT components, stakeholder management, supported in device deployment and backend paperwork, coordination in training and feedback collection sessions. These responsibilities provided me with an opportunity to get an exposure to company’s procurement process, use of different allowance forms, logistics, inventory management, stakeholder coordination, after sales support and customer relationship management. This report highlights the operational activities for Nodes Digital Limited and key challenges faced during the internship. Includes device related problems and end user issues. These challenges have helped me to develop my adoptability skills, problem solving abilities, communication skills and a better understanding of the essence of efficient coordination between cross functional teams. Based on the experience and collected observations, several recommendations have been made to enhance NDL’s operational workflow and customer centric approach such as effective use of the ERP integrated system, voice tap installation in the mobile application, frequent training sessions to create awareness among farmer communities. Overall, the internship experience was intensely valuable and insightful. Through which I gained practical experience of how a real-world business operates through its different functions and supply chain developing both technical knowledge and interpersonal skills which significantly contributed to my personal and professional growth.
