General Banking Activities of Janata Bank Ltd.
Abstract
In this report, I have tried to show numerous general activities of Janata Bank limited and tried to find the lacking among the activities. I have also shown the impact of these activities on the bank's profitability. During the period of my internship, I have observed there profit and loss section and other banking activities. A general activities of the bank means the day to day activities on day to day operation of every section which offer integrated banking services. General banking consists of the management of deposit, cash, clearing bills, account opening, security instrument handling, customer service, locker facilities, card services, and other banking activities, including advance banking activities and foreign trade. Janata Bank Limited is an established bank under the Bangladesh Banks order 1972; it is the 2nd largest state-owned commercial bank in Bangladesh immediately after the liberation. It incorporated as a Public Limited Company on 21, May 2007 vide certificate of incorporation No-C66933 (4425) 07 in the early era of privatization. The Bank has set up another standard in financing in the Modern, Trade, Agriculture and Foreign trade business. This means this bank focuses on every sector of financial activities in the country. This indicates the bank is focusing on all sectors of banking and financial activities in the country. Recently they have introduced night banking, which has taken this bank to another level.
